Bird Notes

Spring Bird Walk #3: Saturday, May 7:

Meet in the former Walmart parking lot off Rt. 142 at 7:30am. Then proceed to the

parking lot near the Hinsdale Causeway.   We will walk along the Fort Hill Rail Trail,

which is flat and accessible for walkers of all capabilities.  This is the third of five walks

this spring as we follow the arrival of birds in their spring migration.

There was a Caspian Tern flying over the water during the Herrick's Cove Wildlife

Festival yesterday.(5/1)

The West River from Springtree Rd.

The double sandbars gave us good looks at a Greater Yellowlegs, Lesser

Yellowlegs and 2 Spotted Sandpipers. While in the driveway by the storage

building was a Killdeer taking a bath in a mud puddle.
