Bird Notes

Early Songs

Two Song Sparrows in my yard today.

---Susan James, Guilford

At Chipmunk Crossing

A Fox Sparrow stopped by our ground feeder for a very short visit on the first day of Spring

Early TV

Not to be competitive or anything, but I just barely beat Jeff to the Turkey Vulture;

saw one over I-91 in Bellows Falls yesterday, March. 6.

Ned Pokras, West Brattleboro

Two Nice Finds

A GLAUCOUS GULL and a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL were at Turners Falls, MA

---New Hampshire RBA

Always Breathtaking

A Bald Eagle flew by our house last week!!!

---Mary Ann McLeod, Wilmington

A Brown Creeper was on the black birch behind my house. Also two female

Buffleheads were diving in the West River near the Marina - so small for a duck !

---Lerna, West Brattleboro

Foxy in West B.

I just had a Fox Sparrow on my deck. (3/21) No question about identification. I had my binoculars ready and there he was.

This seems unusual.

---Eleanor Temple, Brattleboro

This afternoon (3/16) there was a Northern Pintail male plus two females at the landing at the end of Old Ferry Rd., Brattleboro. They are in the tiny pond to the left (facing the river) with a bunch of Mallards. You can drive right to them.

---Lani Wright, Brattleboro

A Turkey Vulture was seen soaring over the BMH parking lot on Monday the 21st.

PLEASE share your birding news and photos with us, so we

can all enjoy reading about your birds and birding experiences.
